HIGH IMPACT / BUILD-UP WIRES
These alloys are very tough and work-harden under impact. As they wear, the weld surface becomes hard, but underneath, it remains tough.
Deposits have excellent impact resistance and do no chip or spall off.
Abrasion resistance continually improves as the weld work-hardens.
Multiple layers can be applied without cracking.
For added abrasion resistance, specific products for abrasion can be applied on top of these alloys.
POSTALLOY® 2850-FCO
MACHINABLE BUILD-UP WIRES
It is a higher hardness machinable hardfacing alloy.
It provides high compressive strength and good metal-to-metal wear resistance.
Weld deposits are exceptionally sound and dense, and heavy build-ups are possible without danger of cracking.

ABRASION & IMPACT WIRES
These alloys are designed to resist gouging abrasion and impact.
The lower hardness alloys resist high compressive forces like those found in crushing applications.
The higher hardness alloys resist gouging abrasion.
When a build-up is required, use work-hardening manganese alloy.

HIGH ABRASION
Tungsten carbide is an ideal material when confronting severe abrasion applications.
It is an iron base, flux cored wire containing generous amounts of tungsten carbide particles.
